Middletown Woman Follows Intuition, Wins $30K Lottery Prize
Despite buying what she needed at another store, the woman told Lottery officials that she just had a feeling to go to her usual spot.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — When Rose LaPadula of Middletown plays the lottery, she usually buys her tickets at the same place — the Valero (Hnz Petro Plus) gas station at 339 S. Main Street in Middletown, according to the Connecticut Lottery.
After buying a couple of lottery tickets at another retailer recently, LaPadula told lottery officials that she decided to stop in at the Valero as well, despite having purchased what she had intended.
“It was just a feeling I had, to go to that particular store,” she said.

It was a good thing LaPadula listened to her intuition, because as she scratched away at her 30X Cash (9th Edition) ticket, she realized she had a $30,000 winner.
LaPadula told lottery officials she intends to share the winnings with her immediate family.
