New Spring Events at the Middlesex YMCA

Come check out all of the new sports and events at the Middlesex YMCA is offering this spring!

Just because the snow is melting doesn’t mean the fun is coming to an end! At the Middlesex YMCA we make sure to prolong the magic of making friends, learning skills, and having fun all year round. Our Spring 1 session begins Saturday, March 14th.

Our new Saturday offerings include: Beginner Judo (white -yellow belt), Intermediate Judo (yellow belt and up), Parent and Me Soccer (3 yrs), Pee-Wee Soccer (4 – 5 yrs), and Bodacious Building Blocks (4 – 7 yrs)! Our Bodacious Building Blocks class will focus on basic design skills, creative problem solving, engineering, and teamwork. Each week will have a new theme to keep ideas fresh and creativity at its best. Our Sports and More class (4 – 5 yrs) is moving to a new time on Saturdays at 1:00pm. Your kids will learn traditional sports skills combined with beginner gymnastic-based skills for the ultimate combination of fun.

Our Sundays offer a variety of dance classes: Dance with Me (18 mths and up), Pre-Ballet (2.5 - 4 yrs), and Ballet (4 - 8yrs)! Our dance classes are designed to create an interest in dance by teaching the basic steps to a variety of styles while being fun and engaging.

We will also have camp prizes and giveaways, along with Camp Ingersoll staff to answer any questions about camp and join in on the fun and games. Get ready for this year’s Easter Egg-stravaganza on March 21st! Scheduled to take place at Camp Ingersoll, we might be hunting for eggs in the snow. The Easter bunny will also be making an appearance, so bring your boots and snow suit for a fun morning out at camp! The cost is $5 for members and non-members.

We love to have fun at the YMCA, but we also love living our cause. We offer more than just games...while playing games. The Y is for youth development, social responsibility, and healthy living. These three concepts can be found in all of our programs. Sports are more than dribbling, kicking, catching, or throwing. We teach social skills: how to greet peers and share commonalities, how to work together with a partner, and how to be comfortable sharing achievements and interests. Children learn that healthy living can be fun. It shouldn’t be a chore to work up a sweat in youth classes, and it isn’t at the Y.

We hope to see you soon!
