2. Could a Chick-fil-A replace this Connecticut homestead built in 1739? Middletown Restaurant Featured On New Connecticut Haunted Trail Map (patch.com) — A well-known Washington Street spot, Harrie's Jailhouse, is now officially on Connecticut's new Haunted History Trail, putting Middletown on the map for ghost-hunting visitors. The statewide initiative highlights more than 130 spooky sites, but this former jail-turned-restaurant stands out for its reported child ghost, creative cocktails, and jailhouse-themed menu—potentially drawing more curious diners and tourists into town.
   

5. Michael J. Estok, Jr. (newhavenindependent.org) — Middletown residents should know that a graveside funeral with full military honors for Navy veteran Michael J. Estok Jr. will be held at the Middletown State Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, September 23, at 2 p.m. The longtime Ansonia resident leaves a large, close-knit family, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his beloved dog, Lucy.
