Sweet Harmony is closing — but one owner already has a new bakery planned (ctpost.com) — Sweet Harmony Cafe & Bakery on Main Street in Middletown will close Sept. 27, ending more than a decade at its current location, but one co-owner already has a new spot lined up nearby. Sarah Jones plans to open Flour & Fern at 170-2 Main St. in late October, keeping scratch-made breakfasts, coffee, and custom desserts in easy reach for downtown residents.

Lesser Encourages Public to Share Feedback on Route 9 Traffic Light Proposal (ct.gov) — Middletown residents are invited to a key public meeting on Nov. 18 at Middletown High School about removing traffic lights on Route 9, a project aimed at improving safety and easing congestion. State transportation officials will outline plans, answer questions, and explain a $143 million construction effort starting on deKoven Drive and Rapallo Avenue in 2027, with broader work following in 2028.
