‘People Of Interest’ ID'd In Fatal Hit And Run In Middletown: PD

Police have taken custody of a vehicle and identified two "people of interest" in connection with a hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Police have identified two “people of interest” and taken custody of a vehicle that is possibly connected with the fatal hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian Wednesday night in Middletown, according to Lt. Heather Desmond. Brooke Rich, 41, of Middletown, was struck and killed by a vehicle that was heading west at the intersection of Route 66/Washington Street around 9 p.m. on March 4.

The vehicle fled the scene, continuing westbound on Route 66 and was possibly heading down West Street. Rich, who was crossing the road when she was struck, died from her injuries, according to Desmond.

“We do have a vehicle in our custody that has heavy front-end damage consistent with hitting a person,” Desmond said in an update Friday morning. “Two people of interest have been identified in the investigation. The Middletown Police Department is continuing to gather more evidence to this case.”
