Planet Fitness Opens New Club Location In Middletown
Planet Fitness invested $2.7 million into the brand-new facility, according to officials.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — Planet Fitness has announced the opening of its new 20,740-square-foot location in Middletown.
Planet Fitness invested $2.7 million to build the club at 840 Washington Street, which officials said will “help members of the greater Middletown community reach their health and fitness goals.”
The brand-new facility features “state-of-the-art cardio machines, strength equipment, the 30-Minute Express Circuit, a variety of spa amenities, among other features,” according to a news release.

“We’re excited to bring an affordable, safe, and judgement-free fitness experience to Middletown,” Planet Fitness Vice President of Connecticut Operations Mike Shapiro said. “Mental and physical well-being are essential to an individual’s overall health, that’s why we’re grateful for the support of city and community leaders who have helped make this club possible.”
Planet Fitness’ Middletown facility is open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays, and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

In addition to the Classic Membership option, the location also offers the PF Black Card Membership. PF Black Card members have access to massage chairs, HydroMassage, and other spa amenities, according to the news release.
Planet Fitness will host a Grand Opening Celebration at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10 at the 840 Washington Street location. The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony along with a $1,000 donation to a local non-profit organization.
The new location offers the non-intimidating Judgement Free Zone, according to the news release.
