Cops: Two Arrested For Biting, Kicking After Seat Dispute at Soup Kitchen

Middletown Police report the following incidents.

Middletown Police report the following arrests:

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER SUSPENSION, IMPROPER USE OF MARKER PLATE, INSURANCE FAILS MINIMUM — On Nov. 6 at 7:25 p.m., Kenneth H. Ford, 46, of Dobson Circle was driving a Buick on Washington Street and speeding in a 25 mph zone.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, INTERFERING WITH EMERGENCY CALL — On Nov. 6 at 10:44 p.m., officers were sent to Sachem Drive for a physical domestic. Katarzyna Plenik, 32, of Farmington Avenue, New Britain, said she was beat up by her boyfriend, Tomasz Obrebski, 26, of Sachem Drive, and the phone was disconnected. She said he grabbed her by the arms and kicked her because he was jealous she was playing pool with his brother and father. He smashed things in the room and took her cell phone and smashed it. Plenik looked drunk and was uncooperative. She had a swollen foot. He said he packed his things, went outside to smoke a cigarette, and returned to find Plenik smashing things in his bedroom and threw glass cologne bottles at him, hitting him in the head. There was blood on his hands. His brother said the door was closed but he heard fighting and both had had too much to drink and thought they both were at fault. Obrebski was arrested for the above; Planik for disorderly conduct.

THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT — On Nov. 5, police were called to Rose Circle on a 911 hang-up. A man answered the door with blood in his mouth and holding an ice pack to his face. He said his son, Eric Bonvouloir, 23, of Plaza Drive, had punched him in the face and body 10-15 times. Then he drove home. He didn’t want to make a statement. Police went to the son’s house, he said they fought over painting a room, he became angry and pushed his father into the wall. When his father fell, he jumped on top of him and punched him multiple times.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On Nov. 5 at 2 p.m., police were called to Jefferson Avenue for a landlord/tenate complaint. Dawn A. Olsen, 57, of Jefferson Avenue, who lived on the second floor, was in the process of being evicted. The Middletown Health Department had recently condemned her apartment and she was allowed 30 minutes a day to go inside. She had arrived late in the night and refused to leave. She was found with an outstanding warrant from Southington.

ASSAULT EMERGENCY PERSONNEL, TWO COUNTS SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On Nov. 3 at 2:33 p.m., police received a call from Middlesex Hospital on an assault. A nurse said Robin S. Behler, 45, of Burgundy Hill Lane had punched her when she entered her room at the emergency department. Behler punched her twice in the arm and said, “If you touch me I am going to beat the [expletive] out of you.” Behler denied it then said the nurse was telling the truth. She was found with two outstanding warrants.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On Nov. 3 at 10 p.m., police received a call that Muhammad A. Mannan, 26, of no certain address was on Burgundy Hill Lane with an active warrant.

OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, INSURANCE FAILS MINIMUM — On Nov. 2, Charles E. McNiff, 65, was driving on Main Street without a front plate.

BREACH OF PEACE — On Nov. 2 at 3:30 p.m., Donald W. Holder, 30, of Elm Street was at GA9 lockup and found with an outstanding warrant. 

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED, FAILURE TO SIGNAL — On Nov. 2, police were driving behind a Chevrolet Citation driven by Donald G. Demoranville, 47, of Dart Hill Road, Vernon. He was found with an active warrant.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED — On Oct. 31 at 12:43 a.m., Charese R. Livingston, 25, of Main Street was driving a Chevy Trailblazer and got into an accident on Newfield Street.

INTERFERING WITH OFFICER — On Oct. 24 at 11:37 p.m., an officer stopped a pickup truck on East Main Street, put a white man in handcuffs. Another officer arrived and was asked to watch the female passenger. Despite being told not to open the door, Frances J. Justiniano, 21, of Hillside Avenue, kept opening the door. She refused to step out of the truck, saying, “no matter what you do, I ain’t getting out of the car.” Police said she was not in trouble; the driver was being arrested for DUI. Officers pulled her from the car, tried a pat down and refused to stand still and pulled away from officers. She kicked one officer in the leg and the other in the groin, yelled and swore.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On Nov. 2, the 10-year boyfriend of Eugene M. Trudeau, 49, of Spring Street called to say he threatened to commit suicide earlier with a kitchen knife. While getting into the ambulance, he yelled, “I am going to kill you.”

POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, AND NARCOTICS, USE OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO SELL, DISTRIBUTION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1,500 FEET FROM SCHOOL, FAILURE TO HAVE TAIL LAMPS, OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED, FAILURE TO KEEP PLATES READABLE — On Nov. 3 at 12:27 a.m., police saw a Mitsubishi Gallant driving on Main Street with an unreadable plate in the window. The driver was Michael A. Bethea, 43, of Wilcox Street, New Britain, and passenger, Tracy Michaels, 42, of Sexton Street, New Britain. Police smelled burnt marijuana, saw copper wool on the floor, and both began to reach downward. Belthea, who has 30 prior arrests, was found with a dollar bill with crushed Suboxone pills inside, $522 in cash — he said he was unemployed and did temp work sometimes — a burnt marijuana cigarette, two used syringes, wax paper baggie with heroin residue and pipe. Belthea admitted he had drugs in his pants; police found 4.3 grams of crack cocaine individually packaged. He was arrested for the above, Michaels for use of drug paraphernalia.

FAILURE TO REGISTER MOTOR VEHICLE, INSURANCE FAILS MINIMUM, FAILURE TO HAVE TAIL LAMPS — On Nov. 1 at 6:58 a.m., Linnea Politis, 24, of Spelman Street, Bristol, was driving on East Street with a brake light out and unlit marker plate.

SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY — On Oct. 27 at 12:52 p.m., Emmanuel Torres, 20, of Grand Street was at Bob’s Store on East Main Street, where an employee saw him enter a fitting room with various clothes valued at $167.97, leave with a backpack and no clothing. He admitted doing so.

INTERFERE WITH OFFICER, BREACH OF PEACE — On Oct. 25 at 4:48 p.m., Deborah L. Cunningham, 53, of Liberty Street was at 617 Main Street when she bit Douglas E. Wagner, 45, of no certain address. Police responded to Liberty Street, where Wagner and his girlfriend said Cunningham had bit him. She was yelling, “I’m going to kill you!” She screamed, swore and pulled her hands away while police tried to handcuff her. A witness, a cook at St. Vincent de Paul, said at 4:45 p.m., she saw a woman throw liquid at a male; he threw it back at her; she punched him; he punched her back; they both began to fight, yell and swear. Wagner said Cunninghim was sitting in his seat at the soup kitchen; he asked her to get up, she grabbed his hand and tried to bite him, kicked him in the leg. A witness confirmed his story. He has an extensive criminal history and was charged with breach of peace.

SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY — On Oct. 24 at 2:17 p.m., Susan Lee, 78, of High Street, Portland, was at Rite-Aid when an employee saw her place two Listerine toothpastes and Listerine mouthwash in her purse, valed at $14.54.

OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED, INSURANCE FAILS MINIMUM — On Oct. 30 at 10:47 p.m., Gary L. Steele, 44, of Batt Street was driving on Main Street Extension.

USE OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, TWO COUNTS SALE OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, DISTRIBUTION OF WITHIN 1,500 FEET OF SCHOOL — On Oct. 23 at 3:41 p.m., Tora Bartell, 41, of Main Street was a passenger in a Saturn Aurora driving on deKoven Drive. She had an active warrant and turned over a crack pipe in her underwear, hidden in her private parts.

NARCOTICS NOT KEPT IN ORIGINAL CONTAINER, FAILURE TO HAVE TAIL LAMPS — On Oct. 21 at 1:18 p.m., Timothy A. Williams, 49, of Town Colony Drive was driving a Chevrolet on Martin Luther King Drive. One passenger as been arrested for possession of and selling narcotics and the other is a narcotics user. Police found Williams with two Xolpidem 10mg pills.
