Police: Middletown Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest
The drugs seized were worth about $580, according to police.

Middletown Police arrested a Hartford man on drug and other charges after a traffic stop.
An officer noticed that a car driving on Westfield Street on Jan. 28 had windows so dark that his headlights couldn’t penetrate them, according to police.
He pulled the vehicle over and upon walking up the the vehicle smelled burned marijuana, police said.

Officers searched the vehicle and found 20 zip lock bags, each of which had a white rocky substance in it, according to police. The driver, Jermaine Hudson, 32, allegedly said he was a user.
The 5.8 grams of substance tested positive for the presence of crack-cocaine and had an approximate street value of $580, according to police.

Hudson was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, distribution of a controlled substance less than 1,500 feet from a school, possession of drug paraphernalia within a school zone and violation of tinted auto glass requirements.
Additionally $230 was seized for asset forfeiture.
