MIDDLETOWN, CT — A prominent building with a storied list of tenants on Main Street in Middletown has been sold.

Northeast Private Client Group Tuesday announced the $1.2 million sale of 339 Main St. The building has a designation of a Main Street Middletown Redevelopment Opportunity

Managing Director, Brad Balletto represented the seller and procured the buyer, a regional developer with several completed and in-progress projects in Middlesex and New London Counties, according to the announcement.

The Main Street Middletown Redevelopment Opportunity is a site that has been fully permitted from redevelopment and is ready for the new operator to get started immediately, Balletto said. The approved permits allow for the complete rehabilitation of the building, converting it to 42 apartment units plus Main Street retail space and amenities.

The building in Middletown is full of history, dating back to 1885.

It once housed Sears Roebuck, as part of the national mail-order and retail chain in the late 19th and 20th centuries. It also housed Bob's Surplus.
