Rider Charged After Dirt Bike Street Takeover Attempt In Middletown
A group of dirt bike riders fled a Saturday street takeover attempt after the cops showed up, according to an incident report.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown police Thursday said the have made an arrest in connection with a street takeover incident over the weekend.
Just before 6 p.m. on Saturday, local police were alerted to a large cluster of dirt bikes in the area of South Main Street at the Middlefield town line. Callers said the riders were attempting a street takeover, according to an incident report.
One Middletown officer located a large group of participants in the parking lot of the Citgo Gas Station at 538 South Main Street and arrested one of the takeover participants, according to an incident report.

Police said other riders then began heading toward oncoming traffic and blocked responding officers in marked cruisers with the lights and sirens activated. The group eventually sped away, heading north on South Main Street, according to an incident report.
The rider taken into custody was identified as 31-year-old Anthony Miranda, of Port Monmouth, NJ. Miranda's motorcycle, a 2020 Honda CRF 110cc dirt bike, was seized and he posted a $150,000 surety bond with a court date of July 26.

He was charged with:
- First-degree reckless endangerment
- Interfering with police
- Reckless driving
- Failure to stop for an emergency eehicle
- Obstruction of an emergency vehicle
- Failure to maintain the proper lane
- Operating an. unregistered motor vehicle
- Driving without Insurance
- Operating a motorcycle without a motorcycle endorsement
- Failure to have tail lamps
- Failure to have turn signals
