Solarize Workshop Features Indoor, To-Scale Solar Installation

Make a Resolution This Year to Increase Your Home's Energy Performance

Solarize Middletown is offering residents a unique opportunity to learn about upgrading the energy performance of their home at a workshop featuring indoor, to-scale replicas of green homes. On January 12th, the public is invited to the Green Resource Education Showroom in Middletown to see a sample solar installation on a to-scale model home built by students of New Britain Technical School – E.C. Goodwin. The Green Resource Education Showroom also features to-scale model ductless heat pump installations and wall displays of blown-in insulation.

“At the Galleria Design Center, we offer the latest in home design and technology,” comments Jerry Martorelli, the President of the Galleria Design Center, which houses the Green Resource Education Showroom. “We inspire people to consider what their home could be with our full-scale kitchen and living room designs, as well as our green home models with solar and ductless heat pump installations. It makes sense to invest in harder-to-see improvements like wall insulation, because the savings realized can be reinvested into the beautiful bathroom you’ve been dreaming about.”

The workshop is the last city-wide outreach effort to help educate people who live and work in Middletown about installing solar on their homes. Solarize Middletown is working with Sunlight Solar to offer residents set, discounted pricing through February 3, 2017. The workshop is free and open to the public. Those interested in a no-charge, home solar evaluation can participate in Solarize Middletown at http://solarizect.com/our-towns/middletown/.

Solarize Middletown is a city-supported, community-based program that expands residential solar through a proven formula. It relies on an on-the-ground outreach campaign that helps educate consumers. Pre-selection of a solar installer means residents are getting the best possible value of price and equipment, specifically chosen for that community. And special financing makes going solar affordable.
