Summer Sounds at Harbor Park

Kicks off on July 11 at 6:30 p.m.

The Middletown Commission on the Arts Summer Sounds 2017 kicks off on July 11 at 6:30 p.m. (note the new start time this year).

The location remains at Harbor Park along the Connecticut River but this year we are setting up the concerts in the pavilion that is located between the Canoe Club and the boathouse. Also, this year we’re presenting a scaled back series with a total of 5 bands performing every other Tuesday (7/11, 7/25, 8/8, 8/22, and 9/5).

On July 11th The first band up is led by Nekita Waller. Nekita is a local star who sings those Motown pop/soul favorites and more.
Next up on the 25th is Joey Milardo and his Musical Cavaliers whose focus is Polish polkas. You can expect some big band sounds as well.
On the 8th of August, Angelo Sapia’s Band returns to Summer Sounds bringing with them Italian favorites from days gone by.
Our August 22nd band is led by Middletown Music Ambassador Kitty Kathryn and she will brighten your summer evening with stirring jazz vocals.
Finishing out our series this year, as they have for many years, is the Middletown Symphonic Band under the direction of noted band director Marco Gaylord.

We hope to see you and one and even better, all of this year’s Summer Sounds performances at Harbor Park. Remember that in the case of inclement weather, we move our performances to the sanctuary of the South Congregational Church, same time as normally scheduled. Any questions or comments may be directed to the City Arts Office at 860.638.4510 or by email at arts@middletownct.gov
