Suspicious Man Asks Kids at Bus Stop if They Want Candy: Middletown Police
Middletown Police are investigating incidents of a suspicious vehicle approaching children at the bus stop the past two mornings.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown Police are alerting residents to a suspicious vehicle that has approached children at the bus stop the past two days.
Police said that on Thursday, Sept. 29 and Friday, Sept. 30, a small silver/gray SUV with a male driver with a South Asian appearance was in the area of children waiting for a bus.
On Thursday he asked the children if they wanted candy and on Friday morning he drove by children waiting at bus stop, slowly turned around and drove away, according to police.

Police said the incident occurred in the area of East Street in the Westfield section of Middletown.
The Board of Education has been notified and police are asking anyone who has witnessed any similar types of incidents to contact the police department immediately.

“Please take this opportunity to remind your children to stay safe,” police said in a press release. “Do not take anything from strangers; do not go near or in their vehicles and find the closest trusted adult if a stranger approaches.”
