Suzio Officially Concedes 13th District State Senate Race
The district includes parts of Cheshire, Meriden, Middlefield and Middletown.

Republican Len Suzio has officially conceded the 13th State Senate District race more than two weeks after he lost a tight contest to Democratic incumbent Dante Bartolomeo.
Suzio announced on Friday that he will not ask a judge to review the outcome of the race, despite seeing the margin of his loss dwindle from 614 votes to 214 votes as election officials in Cheshire have amended the results several times since the election, according to the New Haven Register.
In a statement released on Friday, Suzio said the following (via the New Haven Register):

“During the 2000 presidential election, Democrats rallied under the mantra ‘every vote counts’ and an intensive audit process was conducted to confirm the vote count. I do not intend to put the voters through such a prolonged experience that could potentially leave the results in doubt for a considerable amount of time.”
Suzio also said that he hopes that his experience leads to reforms in the election process to assure the “accuracy of vote counts and to provide a process for addressing concerns when legitimate questions about vote tallies are raised,” according to the Meriden-Record Journal.
