Train Derails In Middletown

No injuries were reported in the incident.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — No injuries were reported when a freight train derailed in Middletown on Thursday morning, according to Mayor Dan Drew.

NBC Connecticut reports that at least eight cars went off the rails on a section of state-owned railroad tracks. Providence & Worcester Railroad leases the tracks from the state.

“Fortunately, no one was hurt and no hazardous materials were spilled,” Drew said in a post on Facebook.
