Singer/songwriter, producer/recording engineer Julie Last writes songs that deal with the poetry and mystery of life. Her voice has been called “as rich as honey wine” and critics described her debut CD (“Relics”) as “luminous and haunting ”.

Michael Veitch has an amazing history, including being discovered by Judy Collins and Shawn Colvin, who have both recorded his songs. He performs heart driven songs combined with a beautiful tenor and fluid guitar playing.

Story City Troupe Saturday At 8pm:

Story City is a troupe of storytellers based in the Hartford, CT area and trained by Matt Dicks, one of The Moth’s champion storytellers. Story City Troupe uses The Moth Formula: all are true, personal stories, often funny, sometimes amazing, poignant or ironic and based on a single theme for the evening. Theatre of the Deaf Presents John Basinger in "The King" Wednesday, 10/19 at 7:00pm - 9:00pm Donations appreciated.
The National Theatre of the Deaf will be holding a preview of the program that will travel down to Gallaudet University as part of their month long celebration of Visual Shakespeare.

Gallaudet University has been chosen as the D.C. host sit for the national traveling exhibitionFirst Folio! The Book that Gave Us Shakespeare. This exhibit, sponsored by the Folger Shakespeare Library, is traveling to all 50 states, D. C., and Puerto Rico in 2016, the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death.

Gallaudet University has asked the National Theatre of the Deaf to perform an excerpt followed by a Question and Answer Session of The King which is an original adaptation based on Shakespeare’s King Lear. Patrick Graybill, an original member for the National Theatre of the Deaf acting company, will perform this adaptation of King Lear as a one-man show. The Kingscript was created by another early member of the NTD acting company, John Basinger.

Each performance unfolds simultaneously in two languages; one for the eye, American Sign Language, and one for the ear, the Spoken Word. Learn More
