Wings of Hope Recovery Wings Regional Grant!

Wings of Hope Recovery, a Connecticut-based recovery housing organization, has been awarded a $10,000 seCTerRise grant to expand its services for individuals and families impacted by substance use disorder. The funding, provided by the Southeastern Connecticut Enterprise Region (seCTer), highlights the powerful link between economic development and community recovery.

Building Hope in Connecticut

Founded on the belief that recovery housing should be more than just a roof overhead, Wings of Hope Recovery has quickly grown into a trusted name in sober living and recovery housing in Connecticut. Since opening its doors, the organization has helped hundreds of individuals stabilize their lives, reconnect with families, reenter the workforce, and pursue higher education.

The organization focuses on safe housing, workforce development, mentorship, and financial literacy training, creating an environment where residents can thrive. Every bed filled represents a story of resilience: a parent reunited with children, a veteran rediscovering purpose, or a young person reclaiming their future.

seCTer’s History of Economic Impact

The award comes through seCTer’s seCTerRise program, a competitive grant initiative supported by the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development. For decades, seCTer has been a driver of economic development in Southeastern Connecticut, providing funding, advising, and resources to small businesses and nonprofits.

Through seCTerRise, organizations at every stage of growth can apply for grants of $10,000 or $25,000, depending on their size and capacity. Half of all awards go to women-owned, veteran-owned, minority-owned, disabled-owned businesses, or organizations located in distressed municipalities. This targeted support has created jobs, expanded services, and strengthened the economic backbone of Connecticut.
