Woman Causes $2K Worth of Damage at Ex-Boyfriend’s Apartment with Hammer: Middletown Police
The woman went to pick up some of her things and became angry when another woman was there. The man was also charged in the incident.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Middletown woman is accused of causing about $2,000 worth of damage at her ex-boyfriend’s apartment with a hammer after seeing another woman at the home when she went to pick up some of her belongings, according to police.
Middletown Police responded to the home at about 11 a.m. on Dec. 17 on the report of an active domestic dispute in which Shalemar T. Freeman was reportedly breaking items with a hammer.
Police said Freeman and Denielius L. Holley had recently been in a dating relationship and have a child in common.

Freeman arrived to pick up some of her personal belongings and saw another woman inside the apartment, according to the police report.
Holley told police that Freeman got angry when he told her “it’s over” between them.

Freeman then grabbed a hammer and began to completely smash both of Holley’s flat-screen TVs, a microwave, the stove and a kitchen window, according to the police report. The total damage was valued at about $2,000.
Holley also sustained a scratch under his eye caused by Freeman, police said.
At one point, police said, Freeman grabbed the other woman by the hair and began pulling on it. After breaking loose from Freeman, the other woman hid in the bathroom until police arrived.
Holley was also accused of pushing and shoving Freeman during the incident, according to police.
Freeman, 21, of Sterling Street, was arrested on two counts of third-degree assault and one count each of first-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. She was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 20, according to state judicial records.
Holley, 36, of Hotchkiss Street, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct. He was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 24, according to state judicial records.
