Woman Robbed Of Shoes At Gunpoint, Middletown Residents Charged: Cromwell Police

Two Middletown residents are accused of robbing a woman of a pair of shoes at gunpoint after arranging an online transaction, police said.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Two Middletown residents are accused of robbing a woman of a pair of shoes at gunpoint in Cromwell after arranging an online transaction, according to police.

Cromwell police responded to River Centre Plaza, 77 Berlin Rd., on Sunday, Oct. 9, on the report of an armed robbery in the parking lot.

The victim and suspects met in the parking lot where the victim was selling the suspects a pair of shoes, according to police.

Police said the shoes were taken by the female suspect while the male suspect pointed a gun at the victim from inside his vehicle.

The suspect vehicle was found on Rapallo Avenue in Middletown following investigation by Cromwell and Middletown officers, according to police.

Both suspects were found coming out of their residences and detained by Middletown police, officials said. Cromwell police detectives executed a search warrant and found evidence tying both suspects to the crime, according to officials.

Julio Oquendo, 20, was arrested on charges of first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, first-degree threatening, carrying a pistol without a permit, criminal use of a firearm, criminal possession of ammunition, and two counts of risk of injury to a minor. He was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond with a court date of Oct. 11.

Carmen Rogers, 21, was arrested on charges of second-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, and two counts of risk of injury to a minor. She was held in lieu of a $75,000 bond with a court date of Oct. 11.
