2 Injured, Driver Rescued In Milford Major Motor Vehicle Accident: Fire Officials

MILFORD, CT — Two people were hospitalized, including a person trapped in their car, following a major accident in Milford on Wednesday, according to the fire department.

The Milford Emergency Operational Center received several calls reporting the accident at 7:42 a.m. in the area of 522 North St. by Eisenhower Park.

Crews arrived to find that one of the people injured "was still trapped and needed to be extricated from their car," according to fire officials. Crews used eDRAULIC tools to remove the person from the car.

The driver was conscious but had suffered a "severe leg injury" and was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

The person in the other vehicle was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

"The Milford Fire Department prides ourselves in our abilities to provide the highest level of care to the citizens that we serve and we would like to wish both these individuals a speedy recovery," fire officials said in the Facebook post.
