Milford Pizzeria Expands Into Grocery Stores With Frozen Pizza Line

The frozen pizzas are now available at several retailers.

MILFORD, CT — A Milford pizza business is expanding beyond its restaurants, bringing its New Haven-style pizza to grocery store freezers across Connecticut.

Silver Sands Pizza has launched a frozen pizza line that is now available at select Big Y and Adams Hometown Market locations, along with several other retailers.

The frozen pizzas come in three varieties: mozzarella, margherita and tomato basil. The company said the pizzas use its restaurant recipe and are flash-frozen.

The expansion gives customers another way to enjoy the pizzeria's food without visiting one of its restaurants.

“Connecticut has a special place in the pizza world, and we're proud to be part of that tradition,” Osman Tunali, owner of Silver Sands Pizza, said in a statement. “Our frozen apizza gives even more people the opportunity to enjoy our pizza at home.”

In addition to select Big Y and Adams Hometown Market stores, the frozen pizzas are available at Silver Sands restaurants in Milford and Wallingford, Orange Farmers Market and Edge of the Woods Market in New Haven.

Tunali founded Silver Sands Pizza in 2011. The business operates restaurants in Milford and Wallingford, serving New Haven-style pizza and other Italian dishes.

The company also operates wood-fired pizza trucks that cater weddings, corporate events and private parties throughout New England.

Silver Sands plans to expand its frozen pizza distribution throughout New England, with a longer-term goal of reaching markets nationwide.

More information, including retail locations, is available on the company's frozen pizza website.
