2. Man Charged After Bar Fight In Milford, Police Say (patch.com) — Milford police say a disturbance at Archie Moore's on Factory Lane led to the arrest of a 39-year-old New Haven man last week. The man is accused of shoving an employee, damaging plants outside, and later spitting at an officer while resisting arrest. He faces multiple assault and disorderly conduct-related charges and is scheduled for a court appearance in September.
3. Milford approves razing house, construction of six apartments under affordable-housing law (ctpost.com) — Milford officials have approved demolishing a single-family house at 21 Meadowside Road and replacing it with six apartments that will join an existing 15-unit complex next door. Two of the new units will be designated affordable under state law, and the combined 21-unit development will share utilities and parking, potentially affecting neighbors and future renters along the shoreline corridor.
4. Connecticut reports first human case of West Nile virus this year, DPH says (nbcconnecticut.com) — West Nile virus was first detected this season in a mosquito pool collected in Milford on June 29, and Connecticut has now confirmed its first human case in Middlesex County. State health officials say mosquito activity and infection risk will stay elevated into early fall, urging residents to use insect repellent and remove standing water around homes to reduce bites.
5. 11 Connecticut Farmers Markets Where $15 Fills Your Tote With Local Produce (takingthekids.com) — Downtown Milford's farmers market on West Main Street offers Connecticut-grown produce, flowers, baked goods, specialty herbs, and handmade crafts just steps from local shops.
