Big Lottery Prize Sold In Milford (patch.com) — Milford residents may want to check their recent scratch tickets after a $10,000 10X CASH 18TH EDITION winner was sold at the Cumberland Farms on Boston Post Road. The prize was claimed by a Stratford resident, and lottery officials note that, under a 2025 state law, winners' names are now kept private unless they give written consent.
   

2. Folks On Spokes To Ride Again In Milford (theorangetimes.com) — Milford residents can join the long-running Folks on Spokes & Step Forward Ride + Walk on Sunday, Oct. 4 at Fowler Field, supporting mental health and addiction recovery services at Bridges Healthcare. With multiple cycling routes, a 5K walk, kids' activities, lunch, music, and a remembrance ceremony, the family-friendly event offers advance registration discounts through Oct. 1.
   

3. Milford aldermen vote 9-6 against terminating Flock camera program (fox61.com) — Milford's Board of Aldermen has voted 9–6 to keep the Flock license-plate camera program in place, despite weeks of organized opposition from residents worried about privacy and data security. After hours of public comment at City Hall, supporters emphasized the cameras' role in public safety, while critics argued that surveillance should not outweigh civil liberties.
   

4. Public Safety Technology Committee formed amid concerns over police drone use in Milford (wtnh.com) — Milford officials have created a Public Safety Technology Review Committee to examine police use of drones and other law enforcement cameras, including the city's Drone as First Responder Program. With city leaders, police, and community members on the panel, the group will study privacy and safety concerns before making recommendations to the Board, though no timeline has been set.
   

5. West Haven stabbing sentence renews mother's grief (wtnh.com) — A man convicted in a 2024 fatal stabbing at a West Haven bar has been sentenced in Milford Superior Court to 20 years in prison, with parole eligibility after 12 years. The victim's mother, still grieving, described her son's attempt to calm the confrontation and shared how the loss continues to affect their family and young grandson.
