New Details Released In Milford Armed Carjackings: State Police
In one of the attempted carjackings, a person filling their tank with gas sprayed the suspect with fuel, police said.

MILFORD, CT — State police are investigating armed carjackings at an I-95 rest area in Milford. The suspects are also accused of an attempted carjacking on I-95 in Darien.
All three incidents occurred early Wednesday morning.
In Milford, troopers received a 911 call at 5:27 a.m. about an attempted armed carjacking at the I-95 southbound rest area. A man was at a gas station filling his vehicle's tank when he was approached by an unknown person wearing a mask who displayed a gun.

The victim responded by spraying the suspect with gasoline, police said. The suspect then fled in a black sedan with an unknown number of occupants.
Then at 5:38 a.m., state police responded to the I-95 northbound rest area in Milford on a report of an armed carjacking. A woman had parked an Acura RDX in the parking lot. As she exited the car and approached the building, she was confronted by a person wearing dark clothing and a mask.

One of the suspects displayed a gun and demanded the victim's keys and belongings, police said. Two more suspects, also wearing masks, then approached the victim.
One or more of the suspects drove off in the Acura RDX. Troopers arrived at the rest stop and found an unoccupied Kia Forte sedan parked with the engine running. The Kia was later confirmed to be stolen from Hamden.
State police were notified at 7:29 a.m. that the stolen Acura RDX was involved in a crash in Hamden. The suspects fled on foot and were reported to have entered a Hyundai SUV and fled.
The suspects are also accused of an attempted carjacking in Darien earlier in the morning.
