Community Comes To Aid Of Milford Attorney With Cancer Diagnosis

A Milford business owner has had "years of treatment, surgeries, and setbacks" following the diagnosis.

MILFORD, CT — The community is supporting a Milford woman who is battling cancer.

Sundeep Harper is an attorney with her own practice, Harper Law LLC.

However, following "years of treatment, surgeries, and setbacks," she has "been forced to wind down her law practice and step away from the career she spent years building," according to a GoFundMe.

The fundraiser was started by Lisa Tomlinson to benefit Harper and her family.

Harper was diagnosed with terminal recurrent ovarian cancer.

"As a solo attorney and business owner, the loss of her ability to work has created a significant financial hardship for her family," the GoFundMe reads. "At the same time, medical expenses, insurance costs, hospitalizations, medications, and other treatment-related expenses continue to grow. Scott is now carrying the weight of supporting the family financially while also caring for Sundeep through treatment and helping maintain stability for their young daughter, Isla."

The fundraiser was started by family and friends in an effort to offset medical expenses, treatment costs, insurance premiums, household bills, mortgage payments and other essential expenses.

The fundraiser had generated $20,485 on 160 donations as of Wednesday morning.
