CT Restaurant Among 100 Best Brunch Spots In America

MILFORD, CT — A Connecticut restaurant has been ranked among the 100 best places for brunch in the country. Travel + Leisure has compiled a list of "The 100 Best Brunch Restaurants in America, According to Yelp Reviewers," and one of them is in Milford.

The list was compiled by Yelp’s data scientists, who "looked exclusively at businesses marked under the 'brunch' category." According to Travel + Leisure, the rankings took both the number of reviews and the amount of stars awarded by reviewers into account. These were then adjusted based on the volume of overall reviews in the restaurant’s area to ensure the ranking's variety.

The Corner Restaurant, located at 105 River Street, cracked the top 20, ranking at number 19 on the list. It is also the only Connecticut restaurant to earn a spot on the list.

According to their website, the Corner opened in 1997 with a focus on taking breakfast food to a new level. This included items such as their Stuffed French Toast, which is still one of the popular restaurant's most loved and cherished menu items.

The dish comes with a variety of stuffing options, including peaches and cream, strawberry and banana, and apple, cinnamon, raisin and cream cheese.

"We have come to be known for serving up consistently great breakfasts in a friendly atmosphere, and with amazing customer service," the website reads.

The Corner's spiced Indian duck tortilla, which features South Indian spiced pulled duck wrapped in a bacon-layered tortilla with scrambled eggs and a mild cheese, has been featured on the Cooking Channel’s "Road Trip."

Other interesting items include the crab cakes benedict, goat cheese medallions, poached eggs & gouda and Cuban tacos.

Topping the list was Orchids in Honolulu, Hawaii, located at the Halekulani Hotel. Rounding out the top 10 are restaurants located in California, New York, Minnesota, Arizona and Illinois.
