Strong thunderstorms and hail are forecast for Connecticut this weekend. Here are the latest details from the National Weather Service.

CONNECTICUT — A special weather statement has been issued for Connecticut as fog will be a concern for the Friday morning commute, the National Weather Service said.

And Saturday looks stormy with thunderstorms forecast and potentially hail, according to the weather service and NBC CT chief meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan.

For southern Connecticut, the weather service said, "Areas of fog continue this morning, with patchy dense fog lowering visibilities to a quarter of a mile in some locations. The fog is expected to dissipate between 8 am and 10 am."
