Derby Senior Center's Former Executive Director, a Milford Resident, Arrested on Larceny Charge: Police
Sarah Muoio is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the facility.

DERBY, CT - Milford resident Sarah Muoio, the former executive director of the Derby Senior Center, has been arrested on a charge of First Degree Larceny in connection with the alleged theft of more than $20,000 from the center, according to police.
Muoio, 30, turned herself in to police custody on Friday morning, and was released after posting a $10,000 bond. She had been fired from her position in January after allegations surfaced about her possible involvement in the theft, reports NBC Connecticut News.
She is accused of allegedly embezzling funds from the center for personal use, with some alleged illegal transactions dating back to 2011.

in a statement, Derby Mayor Anita said she was appalled by the allegations, and that Muoio's alleged actions exploited the city's most vulnerable citizens.
