Dewitt Charged With Harassing Minogue In Weeks Leading Up To Death: PD
Police served Ewen Dewitt with an arrest warrant that charged him with harassing Julie Minogue in the weeks leading up to her death.

MILFORD, CT — Detectives have additionally charged the man accused of killing Milford woman Julie Minogue with harassment and violation of a protective order for incidents that occurred in the weeks leading up to her death, according to an arrest warrant.
Ewen Dewitt, 42, has been held in lieu of $5 million bail after being charged with Minogue's murder.
Police alleged in an arrest warrant affidavit that Dewitt sent more than 200 harassing texts to Minogue and that she asked him to stop, according to the Connecticut Post. Dewitt made two court appearances Wednesday and the case was continued to February.

The Ansonia/Milford State’s Attorney’s Office received an arrest warrant affidavit for Dewitt on Nov. 21 from police, according to a statement from the Division of Criminal Justice. The statement was released after Hearst CT Media inquired about the situation. Prosecutors reviewed the affidavit the same day and returned it to Milford police for additional information, but it wasn’t resubmitted by police.
Minogue was attacked and killed Dec. 6 by Dewitt in the presence of two of her children, according to police. Dewitt was taken into custody the following day.

Minogue was separately granted a full no-contact restraining order against Dewitt on Dec. 1. A protective order was also issued by Superior Court after Dewitt was charged with assaulting Minogue in 2019. The 2019 criminal case is pending; Dewitt was released after posting a $20,000 bond for that case.
Mingoue was remembered by coworkers and friends at a memorial Sunday. Attendees described her as a devoted mother of three. A GoFundMe was established to help support her children.
