
The ducks are coming!
On Sunday, May 1, the annual Milford Harbor Duck Race will be held downtown. The event will take place from 11 am – 4 pm at Fowler Pavilion, located behind the Milford Public Library and next to the Wepawaug River.

The excitement begins at 11:00 with a craft fair, food, fun, entertainment, giveaways and thousands of adorable rubber ducks! The day includes a Corporate Duck Race for businesses at 1 pm and our signature Milford Harbor Duck Race at 2 pm.
People of all ages will flock to the river’s edge and watch a sea of yellow rubber ducks race down the falls, giving “Duck Owners” a chance to win one of 100 fabulous prizes. The race will be kicked off by a welcome from Milford Mayor James Richetelli. At 2 pm thousands of ducks will begin their journey and race to the finish line.

Anyone can become a “Duck Owner” by purchasing Duck Raffle Certificates at one of many downtown locations or at the event itself. The Duck Raffle Certificates are numbered and will correspond with a number located on the bottom of each rubber race duck. As the ducks finish their race, they will soar through a funnel one by one. The first 100 ducks to finish the race will win their owners one of 100 raffle prizes, which include a one week's stay at the Marriott’s Aruba Ocean Club Resort , a 43- inch Samsung flat screen television, a Touch screen Tablet PC, and an XL Center Package to the Hartford Whale skybox for 10! Race winners do not need to be present to win.
In addition to the cheers heard during the Duck Race, Fowler Pavilion will be alive with excitement!
Radio Personality Brian Smith will be the Emcee for the day.
Throughout the day, live entertainment will be constant under Fowler Pavilion with Magician Bryan Lizotte, Jammie the Gentle Clown, Zumba Studio Z Fitness demonstration, Carol Farrell Dancers and Musicians Faye Green and Myke Ross performing Blues, Jazz and R&B. The Kids Zone will offer a full day of activities with a Steve Hine batting cage, photo booth by CAPTURE IT ALL, penny candy, face painting, children’s games and inflatable rides. There will also be performances all day from we sell hoops.com and walk-around characters from Pantachino Productions including the BookWorms.
The Craft Fair and Vendor Exhibit will be open throughout the event. Attendees will find unique items for sale in the exhibit area. Food will be available throughout the day and has been expanded to include a “Taste of Milford,” food from various Milford restaurants including: Joey C’s, Sloppy Jose’s, Got Chef, Dominos Pizza, Rita’s Ices and Old Fashioned Kettle Corn. The Milford Elks will be participating as well. Official Duck Race Merchandise will once again be available for sale on the day of the event.

Duck Raffle Certificates ($5 each) will be sold the day of the event and are currently available for sale at the following locations: Al Dente Restaurant, Bella Napoli, Body Intelligence, Café Atlantique, Canvas Patch, Cloud 9 Day Spa, Mood Swings, Park Lane Deli, Valentine’s Diamond Center and Whole Foods.
