Fire Breaks Out At Commercial Building In Milford

MILFORD, CT — The Milford Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 944 said at 7:50 p.m. Sunday firefighters responded to a reported building fire at 374 New Haven Ave.

The fire crews were on scene in under a minute and a "quick fire attack by interior and exterior crews helped to limit damage to the building."

"Quint 5 made access to the roof and cut a vent hole over the fire to keep it from spreading throughout the entire structure. Within 2 hours of the initial alarm, crews began to return to service. There were no reported injuries to occupants or any fire personnel. Squad 1 remained on scene with Car 11 of the Fire Marshals division to investigate the incident," the fire union posted on Facebook.

The property at 374 New Haven Ave. includes several commercial businesses.
