Fire Damages Milford Building

MILFORD, CT — A vacant commercial building was damaged by a fire Wednesday morning. A passing motorist noticed fire at 1469 Boston Post Rd. shortly before 3 a.m. and called 911.

The building used to be the site of the Loading Dock liquor store. Fire crews began searching the building out of fear of homeless occupants being trapped in the blaze, said Battalion Chief Anthony Fabrizi.

The fire took about 40 minutes to get under control and involved multiple hose lines.

A cause hasn't officially been released and the Milford Fire Marshal's office is investigating.
