Grace Cooper, 91, Passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Grace will be remembered for the love of her family, home cooked meals, and faith.

Grace Cooper, 91 of Milford CT, beloved wife of the late Benjamin Cooper, passed away on November 23, 2024. Born on February 6, 1933, in Tuckahoe, NY, she was the daughter of the late Leonardo and Carmella Visconti.

Grace met the love of her life, Ben, on a double date arranged by a mutual friend. Captivated by her charm and beauty, Ben knew instantly that she was the one, and by 1951, they were married. In 1954, the couple moved to Milford, CT, to raise their family by the beach. Ben worked tirelessly at three jobs so Grace could dedicate herself to staying home and raising their children—a role he always recognized as equally important.

Grace’s family grew even more complete with the arrival of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known affectionately as GiGi, she cherished every moment spent babysitting and keeping them entertained with creative activities, like “painting” the house with buckets of water. She passed on her strong faith to them, guiding each to complete their Catholic sacraments.
A lifelong parishioner of St. Gabriel Parish, Grace was a familiar and welcoming presence, always seated in her favorite pew and greeting her fellow parishioners warmly. Holidays were a special time for her, filled with love and traditions. Her Christmas tree was adorned with her treasured lighthouse ornament collection, and her friends and family eagerly awaited her homemade baked goods.
