MILFORD — Four people were arrested after police said they stole thousands of dollars in merchandise from the Marshalls store on Boston Post Road, according to police.

On April 11, officers were alerted that a group was inside the store hiding items in suitcases. Police said the group had hit other Marshalls stores earlier that day.

The suspects left the store with a black suitcase filled with unpaid merchandise and drove off. Police stopped the vehicle on I-95 near Exit 39.

Officers found two magnets, scissors, and a screwdriver — tools often used to remove security tags. In the trunk, they found two large suitcases and more merchandise with price tags still attached. The total value was $4,704.58.

All four suspects were taken into custody without incident.

The suspects were identified as Yahira Inga-Silva, 21, and Andrew Llacctas-Jimenez, 19, both of Paterson, New Jersey; Alberto Valencia-Casaretto, 24, of Vienna, Virginia; and Dario Sanjinez-Espiche, 28, also of Paterson, New Jersey.

Each was charged with third-degree larceny, possession of a shoplifting device, organized retail theft, and three conspiracy charges.

Llacctas-Jimenez also faces charges for carrying fake IDs and a false Social Security card, police said.

Bond amounts ranged from $2,500 to $10,000. All four posted bond and are scheduled to appear in Milford court on May 9.

Milford Police encouraged residents to report suspicious activity and said efforts to crack down on organized retail theft will continue.
