Homeless Woman Plans To Sue Milford Over New Park Rules

The woman claims that the city's new park designation is an 'act of war' against her, according to a published report.

MILFORD, CT — A homeless woman, Mary Schipke, 61, who is living at Milford's newly approved Fowler Park will sue the city to stop it from closing the park at 9 p.m., the Milford Mirror reports.

The park includes the area near the library, playground, tennis and basketball courts. Schipke who is living in her truck at the park says she considers the city's actions "an act of war," which she claims violates her constitutional rights.

The city's new park designation forbids her from parking her truck at the park overnight. Schipke has been banned from Beth el shelter for 'threats' against staff members there, the Milford Mirror reports.
