HomeTown Buffet in Milford Closes, Auction Scheduled Wednesday

The popular buffet had been in Milford for a long time. People will be able to bid on kitchen and furniture items inside the business.

MILFORD, CT - HomeTown Buffet located at 74 Turnpike Square in Milford is closed for good and people will have an opportunity to bid on the restaurant’s kitchen equipment, furniture and decor on Wednesday.

The parent company, Buffet LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and announced 90 store closings across the country including the Milford location, which had been there for more than 25 years, the New Haven Register reports.

Anyone interested in bidding on anything inside the business can attend an open house beginning 10 a.m. Wednesday. The auction runs until 3 p.m.

AuctionNation.com is handling the auction and according to its online posting, attending the preview is recommended and there will be no refunds, and all items must be removed by 6 p.m. on Thursday.

According to its Facebook page, HomeTown Buffet was billed as “High quality food at affordable prices in a family atmosphere. Our delicious grill selections, hot vegetables, fresh salad bar and dessert bar are enjoyed by more than 75 million customers every year.”
