Good Thursday morning Connecticut,
A sad news update to a tragic story that began on Friday. On Friday night, James and Barbara Tamborra, both 81, of Shelton, were leaving a wake at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home in Seymour when a hit-and-run driver struck them both, police have said.
James Tamborra was killed, while his wife, Barbara, was in critical condition. Barbara Tamborra died Wednesday night as a result of her injuries, her family told media outlets including NBC Connecticut.

The driver of the hit-and-run vehicle remains at-large, police said. A police officer was assisting the elderly couple in crossing the road in front of the funeral home at the time of the accident. The officer wasn't injured.
The Tamborra family has made an emotional plea for the driver to turn themselves in, according to Fox 61. Ken Tamborra, the couple's son, said he was planning on celebrating Christmas with his parents and he said this was a "senseless tragedy," and he pleaded for the driver to come forward and allow the family closure.
