Victoria McCabe, 93, of Milford, Connecticut, beloved wife of the late Robert McCabe, passed away on September 4th, 2024. Born on May 18th, 1931, in Bronx, New York, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Vincenza Trombetta.
Victoria was born in the Bronx during the Great Depression, Victoria’s father worked tirelessly as a blacksmith. Seeking better opportunities, the family relocated to Milford, Connecticut, where Victoria would meet the love of her life.
At a lively community dance, Victoria encountered Robert, and within six months, they were engaged. Their deep connection led to a 49-year marriage, marked by a shared journey of love and dedication. Together, they raised two daughters in the close-knit community of Milford.

Victoria was renowned for her unwavering devotion to her family and her infectious sense of humor. She found joy in making others laugh and cherished every moment with her loved ones. An aficionado of films and music, Victoria had a particular fondness for the old classics, which she enjoyed alongside her beloved dog, Mia, whom she adored and pampered. She loved all animals.
Her culinary skills were legendary; Victoria took great pleasure in preparing delicious meals for family and friends, embodying a spirit of generosity and kindness that endeared her to all who knew her. Victoria is survived by her daughters, Debra and Donna as well as her nephews Mark, Steven, and Ralph. She was predeceased by her siblings, Dominic, Ralph, Joseph, Mary, Dolly, and Josie. She also leaves behind her beloved dog Mia. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the honor of sharing in her life.

A memorial service to celebrate Victoria’s life will be held on Monday, September 9th from 6-8 p.m. at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 10th at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Church, 70 Gulf Street, Milford. Please meet directly at church. Interment to follow immediately at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Milford.
