[UPDATE w/ Fire Video] Man, 86, Burned After Boat Catches Fire in Milford

An 86-year-old man received superficial burns to his face after his sailboat caught fire in Milford Friday, according the Milford Fire Department.

Milford firefighters and the Coast Guard from New Haven responded around noon to the reported boat fire at the mouth of the Milford Harbor. A privately-owned vessel picked-up the lone occupant of a sailboat that had caught fire and brought him to the Milford Yacht Club docks.

The man was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for further examination after being treated at the scene.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
