The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it. *
I see a short term approach in resolving several important areas of Milford’s well being.
I will work and vote in favor of ideas and decisions that insure fiscal stability, short term - balanced with growth opportunities for our future.
I wish to maintain qualified people working for the city with a renewed focus on filling vacant positions. This will boost moral while creating better services for our residents.
I will work to help insure that development is controlled while acquiring open space to maintain as much of Milford’s beauty and character as possible.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post? *
Experience and a history of 30 years of public service in Milford. One of the major assets that I bring to the office of Aldermen would be a well rounded background of service in the city including BOE, Board of finance and Planing and Zoning. I understand how the different boards work and will draw from my experiences and knowledge to better accomplish what the residents want. A vibrant and growing Milford that still maintains its uniqueness and roots to its past.
List other issues that define your campaign platform:
Development. I would like to work with the P&Z board on the Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD). This plan is the road map for what we want to look like as a city and how best to accomplish that.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Leadership. Problem solving/mediation and Commitment. As a Project Manager/Superintendent I manage multi million dollar construction projects, coordinating trades and professionals along city department leaders in many communities in lower Fairfield County. On my job and while serving on the several boards here in Milford, I have assisted in mediation, offering solutions when possible and have proven my commitment to every task presented to me. In addition to my love and commitment to my wife and family, I have also served in my church for 28 years.
The best advice ever shared with me was ...
To treat and speak to people the way you would want them to treat and speak to you.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I would like people to know that over the many years that I have served the residents of Milford, I have always voted, though some with restrictions from the law, the way that I think best serves the people. Board members and others that have served with me have all said that I am a man who brings a certain peace to a meeting and that I can be trusted to do what I say, even if it is not in line with what others think. I bring a controlled common sense approach to all my decisions. I believe I have the respect of many city officials and residents from all sides.
