The first egg of the season was laid sometime between April 16 and April 20, and more could follow, as ospreys typically lay up to four eggs.

Eggs are expected to hatch in about five to six weeks, meaning viewers could soon see chicks appear on the livestream.

Ospreys are known for their fishing skills, diving feet-first into the water to catch fish with their sharp talons. They primarily feed on fish and can carry their catch back to the nest in midair.

They are also long-distance migrants, spending winters in South America before returning to Connecticut each spring to nest. Many pairs return to the same nest year after year.

The osprey cam runs around the clock during nesting season, capturing everything from nest building to feeding and interactions between the birds.
