New Details About Milford Fire Where Man Jumped From Window
The fire occurred Wednesday morning and one man was hospitalized.

MILFORD, CT — A Berwyn Street resident was hospitalized after jumping out of a second-floor window in order to escape a fire, a top fire official said. The fire was reported just before 9 a.m. at 64 Berwyn Street Wednesday.
Fire broke out in the basement area of a single-family home. Firefighters arrived and saw smoke coming from the basement and first floor areas of the house, said Fire Battalion Chief Anthony Fabrizi. Firefighters quickly put out the fire and prevented it from spreading throughout the home.
Two family members managed to escape without injury, but one man was forced to evacuate from a second-story bedroom window due to a dangerous smoke condition, Fabrizi said. He was treated on scene and transported to Milford Hospital for evaluation.
