Milford Police Officer Saves a Life Friday

A city police officer is being called a hero today for reviving a person who had no pulse.

MILFORD, CT - A Milford police officer is credited today with saving a city resident’s life.

Patrolman First Class Paul Mazzara responded to an emergency call early this morning on Snow Apple Lane.

When he arrived he found a person unresponsive and there was no pulse. Being first on the scene, Mazzara began CPR on the individual and revived the person.

Mazzara performed CPR on the person for 3-5 minutes and then the Fire Department took over.

(The Milford Fire Department) “determined that his quick response and effective use of CPR had in- fact revived the subject and started the heart pumping again. The subject was transported to the Emergency Room and was left in stable condition at that time,” said Police Officer Joseph Dempsey in a news release.

“The Milford Police Department would like to recognize PFC Paul Mazzara for his heroic efforts,” Dempsey added.
