New Details, Timeline For Weekend Storm: CT Weather
Another weekend in Connecticut and that means another stormy forecast for us. Here are new details on what we can expect.
CONNECTICUT — There was a chance for a snowstorm this weekend but that appears very unlikely now as local meteorologists now believe it will be too warm to support accumulating snow and we can expect rain on Saturday afternoon and evening. It is possible that some sleet and snow will mix in across the state but no real accumulation of snow is expected.
The only exception may be Litchfield County, which may see a longer period of snow and mixed precipitation. It appears that the rain will begin Saturday morning and end Sunday morning. Up to an inch of rain is forecast. Again some sleet and snow may mix in briefly but no snow accumulation is expected.
If you have outdoor weekend plans, Sunday afternoon looks better with sunshine returning and temps into the low 40s.

The National Weather Service says temps will moderate beginning today and temps will be above normal for this time of year.
"Low pressure approaches this weekend resulting in clouds and unsettled weather. Coastal sections will observe plain rain, while most inland sections see a wintry mix before a change to rain by late Saturday morning or Saturday afternoon.

"After the low passes, colder air could change precipitation back to snow or a wintry mix late Saturday night, mainly north and west of New York City. Some snow or rain showers could linger into Sunday as well."
Looking like a mainly rain event for Connecticut on Saturday. There may be wintry mix to start in the higher elevations, but the rain will take over as warmer air streams in. I'm not a huge fan of winter weather, but I'm starting to itch for a good blockbuster snowstorm! pic.twitter.com/9pq27ujnqv

A chilly start will give way to a mild afternoon with highs in the low to mid 40s! Friday will be another quiet day before a quick-moving storm system brings us rain Saturday afternoon. See you on #GMCT with @KeithKountz and @AlyssaRaeTaglia on @WTNH pic.twitter.com/bzBo8mZzDT
