Parents Fight to Keep St. Gabriel School Open in Milford
They have set up a crowdfunding page among other efforts.

MILFORD, CT - Parents are vowing to fight to keep open St. Gabriel School in Milford, despite the plan to close the Catholic school in June.
A GoFundMe crowdfunding page has been established to help the school, and as of today, March 7, it has raised more than $11,400 toward a goal of $500,000.
"We are a community of wonderful children, parents, teachers, staff, parishioners, alumni and concerned citizens. We love our school community and want to continue furthering our children's education together as a community, despite the decision," wrote Aimee Liseo Vail, the creator of the GoFundMe page. "We are raising money to house our new independent school so that our children, especially the ones with special needs, can continue to thrive in our unique learning environment. Thank you for your support."

School and church officials say the school's financial picture has turned bleak in recent years, primarily due to declining enrollment, reports the New Haven Register.
“I’m very invested in this school. I’m angry and sad at the same time," parent Pamela Konareski, who has three children at the school, told the Register. “We’ll do whatever it takes. I feel it has brought us all closer together.”
