MILFORD, CT — The Milford Board of Education is seeking approval from the city to undertake a parking lot expansion at Live Oaks Elementary School, 575 Merwin Ave. The application is pending before the city's Inland Wetlands Commission.

At a recent meeting, Schools Chief Operations Officer James L. Richetelli Jr. said "traffic congestion has become a real problem; the parent drop off area has become more and more popular and there is a great need to reconfigure the area."

Plans include reconfiguring the driveway, adding a new sidewalk with ramps and tactile strips for student accessibility. The area across from the Memorial Gardens will have a small parking lot.
