• 2 Rescued After Canoe Capsizes Off Milford Coast (patch.com) — Two people were pulled from Long Island Sound after their canoe capsized about 300 yards off the Milford shoreline near Laurel Beach, thanks to a rapid response by Milford firefighters and police. A Jet Ski crew reached them within about 10 minutes, highlighting recent marine training around Charles Island and prompting officials to stress the importance of wearing life jackets on Milford's coastal waters.

• Milford police chief announces Flock camera policy changes during public forum (nbcconnecticut.com) — Milford residents packed a public forum as Police Chief Keith Mello announced tighter rules for Flock license plate reader cameras, including cutting data retention to seven days and promising breach notifications. Mayor Richard Smith has called a special Board of Alders meeting next Thursday to consider pausing and reviewing the city's use of the cameras, after residents raised strong privacy and civil liberties concerns.

• Milford's Kayla Batres finishes fifth at U20 world championships (ctwrestling.com) — Milford wrestler Kayla Batres has earned a tied-for-fifth finish at the U20 World Championships in women's freestyle 50 kg, representing Guatemala in Bratislava, Slovakia. The Greens Farms Academy senior went 2-2, dominating early matches before falling to eventual champion Yuu Katsume of Japan and then to American standout Morgan Turner in the bronze-medal bout.
