Foran high schools being ranked among Connecticut's top 100 in Niche's new 2027 analysis. The nationwide study evaluated tens of thousands of schools and highlights Milford's strong public high school options as parents compare choices across the state and country.

Anchor Social Temporarily Closes In Milford (patch.com) — Milford diners will notice Anchor Social in the Woodmont neighborhood has temporarily closed as owners pause operations to plan the bar and restaurant's next chapter. Located on Merwin Avenue, the popular spot with strong online reviews promises to return bigger and stronger and is asking local patrons to watch for upcoming updates.
   

3. Surveillance Tech Continues To Roil Milford (theorangetimes.com) — Milford officials have paused most traffic cameras and created a Public Safety Technology Review Committee to reassess how the city uses license plate readers, red-light cameras, and even police drones. Over the next 90 days, residents can expect recommendations that may reshape how local police balance crime-fighting tools with privacy concerns across town.
   

4. Crews working around the clock to cleanup storm damage (wtnh.com) — Milford crews are working long shifts to clear downed trees, power lines, and other hazards after a major weekend storm that knocked out electricity for about 1,000 residents near Naugatuck Avenue and Bic Drive. Local officials urge you to avoid handling debris around wires yourself and instead call 911 or fire dispatch so city and utility teams can respond safely.
   

5. New CT AI, data privacy laws go into effect Oct. 1. What to know (ctmirror.org) — New statewide AI and data privacy rules taking effect Oct. 1 will shape how Milford residents' data, social media use, and workplace interactions with AI are handled, with more protections rolling out through 2028. Milford's own Sen. James Maroney helped craft the CART Act, which adds safeguards around facial recognition, data brokers, youth social media, and AI-driven hiring decisions.
