Planet Fitness Celebrates First Anniversary Of Milford Club

Planet Fitness, one of the largest and fastest-growing global franchisors and operators of fitness centers with more members than any other fitness brand, last month celebrated the one-year anniversary of its new location in Milford, Connecticut. The new club, located at 177 Cherry Street, is approximately 18,000 square feet and offers state-of-the-art cardio machines and strength equipment, among other features. Planet Fitness franchise group, ECP-PF, invested $2.2 million to open the club last year and better serve the greater Milford community.

“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were not able to host a traditional grand opening celebration when the Milford club opened last summer,” said Planet Fitness Vice President of Connecticut Operations, Mike Shapiro. “Since our opening, we have been a vital community resource and have helped our members achieve the physical and mental health benefits of exercise. We are grateful for the support from the City of Milford and other local leaders, and we look forward to continuing to be an accessible, affordable fitness solution for the entire community.”

Shapiro led a tour of the club that included special guests Milford Mayor Benjamin Blake, State Senator James Maroney, and State Representative Kathy Kennedy. Milford’s CappuGinos provided shakes for the event, which featured additional giveaways.

In addition to state-of-the-art cardio machines and strength equipment, the Milford club offers a 30-Minute Express Circuit, numerous flat-screen televisions, fully equipped locker rooms with day lockers and showers, HydroMassage beds, massage chairs, tanning beds, and more. It is open and staffed 24 hours a day from Monday through Thursday, 12:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Fridays, and 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
