Police Catch Vandalism Suspects

Four men were arrested on vandalism charges after they allegedly placed large objects in the middle of Boston Post Road in Milford.

Police responded at 4:10 a.m. on Nov. 19 to investigate and observed four males running from the area. Taken into custody were Christopher Barnes, 21, of Oxford, Brenden Gerbino, 21, of Milford, Brandon Stewart, 23, of Milford, and Joseph Andrews, 23, of Stratford.

Police said the men had removed mailboxes from posts and threw them into the roadway, creating a hazardous condition for motorists. Storage carts from a business in the area were also found in the roadway, police said.

All four men were arrested on charges of third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree reckless endangerment. They were released on a promise to appear in court on Dec. 6.

Homemade Weapon Found in Car

A 34-year-old Milford man was hit with a weapons charge after being pulled over for a seatbelt violation on Nov. 20.

Police said the man, who they identified as Gabriel Digioia of Magellan Drive, was in possession of a homemade wooden baton. The weapon was reportedly located along the driver’s seat of the vehicle during the stop on Schoolhouse Road at 12:07 p.m.

Digioia was released on a promise to appear in court on Dec. 6.

Domestic Dispute Leads to Arrest

A Meadowside Road man was arrested Nov. 19 following a domestic dispute in which he allegedly assaulted an ex-companion.

Police arrested Enrique Llinas, 41, on charges of third-degree assault and disorderly conduct in relation to the incident, which took place at 7:19 p.m. His bond was set at $1,000 and he was scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 21.

Seatbelt Violation Leads to DUI

A traffic stop for a seatbelt violation led to a DUI arrest for a Stratford man on Nov. 20.

An officer pulled over a vehicle being driven by Andy Weaver, 33, at 1:40 a.m. in the area of River Street. The officer determined that Weaver was intoxicated, according to police.

Weaver’s bond was set at $500 and he is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 8.

Milford Woman Charged with DUI

A Milford woman was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence at 10:41 p.m. on Nov. 20.

Police said the woman, Nicole Sistrunk, 38, of Joanne Drive, was pulled over in the area of Milford Point Road and Naugatuck Avenue. She was also charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended license.

Sistrunk’s bond was set at $500 and she is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 8.
